Hockney Questions...
1) Hockney's first joiner was of a living room and terrace in Los Angeles, CA. He did this by accident. Hockney didn't like that in the 1960s artists would use large lens cameras that made their images look distorted. He discovered joiners by taking pictures of a room with a polaroid camera and pasting them together. He realized that this type of collage/photo created a narrative of the subjects motion and therefore stopped painting so that he could focus more on photography.
2) To create a joiner without photoshop, take multiple pictures of the same subject focusing on different areas to get the whole subject and then paste them together. I found these answers of how to create a joiner in photoshop off of google so not 100% sure how to do this myself... 1: take 1 photo and click photo merge; 2: play with the layers of the photo to see which way you want them to turn; 3: create a shadow; 4: use stroke; 5: apply same settings to all layers; 6: color the background

Brainstorming...
I think that I am going to create a photo collage showing the passage of time. Some ideas that I have are:
1) someone wearing college sweatshirts with all different names and colors showing the passage of time of their interests
2) someone walking down the hallway
3) someone eating
4) a tree changing colors and loosing it's leaves
5) a plant blowing in the wind
6) 2 people talking
7) someone throwing a baseball
8) someone throwing a football

Hockney Joiners (edited)...
I did like this lesson because it showed me to put together pictures in a creative way to represent an object or a picture. Even though I liked creating this project, I did not and do not like the way the Hockney Joiners look. I think that they look very unorganized and unappealing. If I were to do this project again I would probably do a grid format where I can just piece the object back together instead of layering and trying to make it look halfway decent in photoshop.
